Staying at Disney World’s Pop Century Resort

Have you ever wanted to travel back in time to the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, or 90’s? You can do just that at Walt Disney World’s Pop Century Resort on Disney property. This resort has 5 different groups of buildings with theming in each decade (yo-yos, bowling pins etc). This resort has timeless fun and multiple pools to also enjoy! And the best part, this resort is considered a value resort, so it is very budget-friendly.

The preferred rooms are located at the 60’s building. This building is located directly outside the Main Entrance Hall, which houses both the hotel lobby, and the “Everything Pop” shopping/dining area. The preferred buildings are also right behind the Disney Skyliner. The main pool on property, The Hippy Dippy Pool, is located right in the middle, adding to the reasons it is considered the preferred area on property. The pool is the Petals Pool Bar and serves some resort specific drinks which are great to have after a long day at the parks!

The other buildings’ rooms are considered standard rooms. This means their location is a bit farther from the center of the resort, but don’t let this deter you. The walk from the 50’s building to the Disney Skyliner and the bus area takes about only 4 minutes. Walking from the 80’s/90’s buildings takes about 7 or 8 minutes. Overall, it is not terrible, but keep in mind, if you have little ones traveling, it might seem extra long after a day at the parks. These are some things to think about when deciding on whether to spend some extra money on your room type.

The Disney Skyliner

The rooms at Pop Century sleep up to 4 adults and there are also adjoining rooms available. The rooms include a double sized bed as well as a double sized murphy – style bed, which is great to have more space in the rooms. The bathrooms are split-styled, which is great for a couple guests to get ready at the same time. The shower and toilet are in one room, while the sink is left out in a different area. You will also notice there is no carpet in these rooms, as they have been upgraded to have a tiled floor.

Overall, staying at Pop Century is always a great time, and you can stay in a different building each time you visit to find out which location is your favorite!
